First Fridays

First Fridays

Have you heard about First Fridays at Waterways? We started this tradition back in March, and there couldn’t be a better way to begin each month! We love that we are able to bring the community together with art from our residents, activities for the kids, and some adult beverages.

The first Friday of each month, we kick off the weekend by displaying local artwork, having a kids table with hula hoops, mask making, coloring/ painting, and then of course some beer and wine provided by our HOA. Each event has been even more well attended than the past, and residents have even been staying long after the event is over to celebrate with neighbors. We are just loving this event and can’t wait to continue throughout the rest of the year. Here’s a quick recap of our First Friday events so far, as well as a sneak peek at tonight’s event for our residents.

March – Waterways resident Ana Maria Leonardi set up her artwork for display and the HOA provided us with a delicious wine and cheese spread. Richmond Hill resident and American idol contestant Liv Annalise provided us with some wonderful musical entertainment for the evening.

April – Waterways resident and photographer Tom Norman displayed his artwork for this month’s event. Does this name sound familiar? You’ve probably seen him in the Spring issue of Ideal Living! Molly MacPherson’s Pub set up their food truck, and residents just loved their shrimp Po’ Boys.

May – Savannah College of Art and Design student photographer Ann Van Epp set up her photography for May’s event. Since this event was right before Cinco de Mayo, it was only appropriate to have food from Jalapenos Mexican Grill in Richmond Hill. A special thanks to Austin Williams for proving entertainment for the evening!

June – So what’s coming up tonight? Waterways resident KIDS will be displaying their artwork! Molly MacPherson’s food truck will be back and there will be live music by the Johnny Reed Band. The HOA has also hired a professional photographer for the evening to take photos of the kids with their artwork. We’re so looking forward to this evening!

Residents, please help us extend a big thank you to Becca Sweeney, our Lifestyle Director, for pulling these fantastic celebrations together each and every month.
