1. Pirate Festival

Date and time: Friday, October 6, to Sunday, October 8, various times

Where: 1700 Strand Avenue Tybee Island, GA 31328

Details: One of Tybee’s most famous festivals, the Pirate Fest is a combination of food, music and rum! Folks dress up in pirate attire to come and join the fun! This is family friendly event.

2. Great Ogeechee Seafood Festival

Date and Time: Friday, October14, to Sunday, October 16, various times

Where: 521 Cedar St, Richmond Hill, GA 31324

Details: If you’re looking to enjoy some of the best seafood in the southeast as well as some southern hospitality, join us at the Great Ogeechee Seafood Fest! Enjoy various seafood dishes cooked by local chefs, along with traditional southern desserts. Live music will be played by country star Jerrod Niemann and local bands as well. Wristbands for a carnival Saturday night will be available. Make sure to visit the WaterWays booth and say hello!

3. Halloween Kids Hike

Date and Time: Friday, October 20, 5 to 8 p.m.

Where: Oatland Wildlife Center, 711 Sandtown Rd, Savannah, GA 31410

Details: Bring your little trick or treaters to enjoy a kid-friendly Halloween trek throughout the forest trails at the Wildlife Center. Animal characters will be there offering kids candy along with arts and craft stations and other spooky activities.

4. Wag-O-Ween

Date and Time: Saturday, October 21, 12 to 5 p.m.  

Where: Downtown Savannah

Details: Bring your dressed up pup downtown for a day of Halloween fun! Tickets are $5 and proceeds go to local animal shelters. Participating stores and restaurants will offer treats to participating pups and deals and sales to their humans!

5. Autumn Gardenfest

Date and Time: Friday, October 27, to Saturday, October 28, various times

Where: Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens, 2 Canebrake Rd, Savannah, GA 31419

Details: Come visit the botanical gardens to see their beautiful fall flowers and browse nursery vendors. There will be outdoor booths selling gardening tools and other related goods from local vendors. After strolling throughout the gardens, you can sit in on free gardening lectures at the Lakeside Pavilion!

6. Savannah Film Festival

Date and Time: Saturday, October 28, to Saturday, November 4, various times

Where: Multiple venues

Details: Presented by the Savannah College of Art and Design, come check out the 2017 Film Festival! Enjoy cinema done by local professionals as well as students of SCAD. There is a combination of screenings, film competitions, panels and celebrity guest lecturers!
